Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause and believe it or not there was a time when you could buy a car for under $500.00 and rent a room downtown for $2.50. Gas was about 20 cents a gallon with almost half of that tax. Cheap electricity was the way to go when the old ice box became obsolete. The following images date from 1926 to 1940. |
